Military Medal 'Action: Switch Line, 15th September 1916, and following days South east of High Wood. As a battalion runner this man went repeatedly between battalion headquarters and the front line with messages under very heavy shell fire. He did
particularly good work and when runners were required he was always the first to volunteer.'
