Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On 31st July during operations West of Warneton he commanded a party of ten which advanced to establish a post 300 yards in front of our line. He successfully consolidated his post and concealed it with great skill. He showed great courage and leadership. Though wounded continued at his duty.'
