Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and bold initiative. On the 29th September 1918, near La Vacquerie. During the attack Private Raynor with a small party became isolated from his platoon. He at once organised his party and with bold initiative attached and captured an enemy machine gun nest which was holding up the remainder of his Company. Throughout the day he displayed great gallantry. His example was a great inspiration to his comrades.'
