Military Medal 'For gallantry and devotion to duty near Flers on the 15th September 1916. Though wounded in the leg, hearing that the Lewis gun of which he was one of the team was short of ammunition, he remained on duty and maintained the ammunition supply by carrying further supplies from the nearest dump under heavy fire until
the enemy?s position was captured and consolidated.'
