Military Medal 'These two men were with ammunition wagons on the Longueval/Flers Road on 20 September 1916, when it came under the enemy?s fire. 2 of the drivers were
wounded and 3 horses killed. They managed to extricate the wounded men from the horses and get them away, and also save the unwounded horses. During the whole time the place was being heavily shelled, but these men saw the thing through and the road clear before they left the scene.'
