Military Medal "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On 29th September when his Platoon Commander was wounded he took command of the Platoon and on 30th September 1918 all the Officers of the Company being casualties he took command of the Company. He showed excellent qualities of leadership and considerable daring and handled his Company very skillfully."
