Embarked Alexandria with unit to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force (Gallipoli Campaign), 12 April 1915.

Admitted to No.16 Casualty Clearing Station, Mudros, 20 August 1915 (debility); transferred to England, 20 August 1915; to Duchess of Connaught Canadian Red Cross Hospital, Taplow, 1 September 1915 (debility and defective teeth); discharged to furlough, 5 October 1915; marched into Depot, Weymouth, 19 October 1915.
