Military Medal 'Operations: British Front in the vicinity of the Foret de Mormal, 5th November 1918. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During the above operations Sergeant Pearce was in command of a platoon sent out to a flank to deal with an enemy strong point from which the attacking troops were being enfiladed. By his bravery and skilful leadership he quickly got round the flanks capturing the machine gun and inflicting heavy casualties on the enemy. By his bravery and leadership he undoubtedly saved many casualties and set a magnificent example to all ranks.'
