Military Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty at 2pm on 7th August 1918 at Rossignol Wood near Gouzeaucourt. Rfmn. Perry acted as a covering party while his Officer, single handed, captured four of the enemy and one light machine gun. With great coolness Rifleman Perry brought rifle fire to bear on the enemy and enabled his Officer to cross "No Man's Land" three times. He remained in an exposed position in "No Man?s Land" keeping the enemy back until his Office had withdrawn with his captures. His coolness and resourcefulness was a great factor in this successful operation.'
