Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On 12th October 1917, during attack on Passchendaele Ridge, Private R M Pearson did splendid work as a bearer. Time after time till exhausted did he go forward with his squad and kept the left regimental aid post clear. His untiring energy and devotion to duty often under heavy fire was a fine example to the other men.'
