Military Medal 'At the assault on Belle Vue Ridge on October 12th, this Non commissioned officer under heavy fire, led his Platoon into action with great dash and initiative. Afterwards when the Company Sergeant Major was wounded, he took over the latter's duties, and showed great ability and coolness in the organization of his Company under heavy fire and extremely trying conditions.'
