Disembarked, Glasgow, Scotland, 25 February 1918. Marched in to Canterbury (Reserve) Battalion camp, Larkhill, 26 February 1918; marched in to New Zealand Rifle Brigade Base Depot and taken on strength, Brocton, 28 February 1918. Admitted to Rugeley Hospital, 21 March 1918 (cerebro-spinal fever); discharged and attached to New Zealand Rifle Brigade Base Depot, 29 March 1918. Proceeded overseas to France, 28 April 1918.

Disembarked and marched in to New Zealand Infantry and General Base Depot, Etaples, France, 30 April 1918.

Found guilty, 30 April 1918, of allowing another soldier to use his pass on 27 April 1918: awarded seven days' confined to barracks; forfeited two days' pay.

Joined 4th Battalion, New Zealand Rifle Brigade, in the field and posted to C Company, 3 May 1918.

Wounded in action, admitted to 1st New Zealand Field Ambulance and transferred to 56th Casualty Clearing Station (gun shot wound, leg), 26 August 1918. Died of wounds, 28 August 1918.
