Admitted to HS 'Maheno', 10 November 1915 (septic hand); transferred to NZ General Hospital, Abbassia, 16 November 1915; to Aotea Convalescent Home, Heliopolis, 25 November 1915; discharged to Base Deptails, 6 December 1915; rejoined unit, Moascar.

Proceeded to join the British Expeditionary Force, France, 6 April 1916.

Admitted to No 1 NZ Field Ambulance, 16 December 1916 (scabies); transferred to 4th Stationary Hospital, Arques, 19 December 1916; discharged to unit, 29 December 1916; rejoined unit, in the field, 30 December 1916.
