Military Medal 'He acted as a carrier and runner during the operations on the Messines Ridge (7/6/17 to 9/6/17). These duties he carried out under very trying circumstances having to pass repeatedly through an Artillery Barrage. During the whole operations he displayed great gallantry and rendered most valuable service in keeping up the ammunition supplies.'
