Military Medal 'Action in front of Belle Vue Spur, West of Passchendaele, 12th October 1917 and following days. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. This man was responsible for excellent work on 12th October 1917. His section and a Lewis gun Section adjoining had suffered severely from casualties, but he re-organised both, bringing the Lewis gun to bear on a sector where hostile fire was practically heavy.
His courageous conduct was responsible for a great reduction in casualties.'
