Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and initiative on 29th September, 1918, near La Vacquerie. When his company was held up by machine guns from very close range he went along a sap and threw bombs into the post, which enabled his platoon to advance above ground and capture gun, crew, and objective. He was wounded while throwing bombs.'
