Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On 29th September 1918 in the attack on Bon Avis Ridge he came under fire from enemy machine guns holding
the top of the bank. He immediately rushed up the bank, shot several of the crew and captured two machine guns. He showed great courage.'
