Military Medal 'Messines Offensive, 7th to 9th June 1917. This signaller has once more proved himself worthy of special recognition and during the last fortnight on the attack on the Messines Ridge has kept communication up with all advanced posts, repaired wires and generally displayed great devotion to duty. He is absolutely cool under heavy fire and a splendid organiser. He has been with the Battalion since its
formation and whether in the front line or not has always performed his duties in a most satisfactory manner.'
