Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Prior to the attack on the German positions east of Rossignol Wood on the 24th July 1918, Corporal Miller by day and night patrols, helped to locate enemy posts and details of wire with absolute accuracy. Prior to the attack, he was in command of the snipers, and by his own keenness in sniping set such a splendid example to his men that the enemy was
unable to get any observation from his front line. During the attack he, and two companions, rushed and captured a post of six of the enemy, who were killed.'
