Embarked Wellington, 16 October 1916; disembarked Plymouth, England, 29 December 1916, and marched into Sling Camp.

Proceeded overseas to France, 11 February 1917; joined 2nd Bn, Otago Infantry Regiment, in the field, 25 May 1917, and posted to 10th Company.

Wounded in action, 9 June 1917 (gun shot wound, forearm), and admitted to No 1 NZ Field Ambulance; rejoined unit, 12 June 1917.

Killed in action, Belgium, 12 October 1917.
