Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry. During the attack of the New Zealand Division in the Ypres offensive Private Mead acted as Company runner and showed conspicuous
bravery whilst under very heavy fire in carrying messages through to Battalion. He was every ready for dangerous work, which in all cases he carried out satisfactorily.'
