Meritorious Service Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He has taken part in every action in which the Battalion has fought. At Gravenstafel on the 4th October 1917 after all the Officers but one of his Company were out of action he did most valuable work and showed qualities of a very high order.'
