Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On the morning of the 25th August 1918 near Bapaume when Lance Sergeant McIntyre's Company attacked, all his officers were casualties. He led his platoon through to its objective, and there reorganised and consolidated. He fought with great bravery and showed great dash in leading throughout the operation. His disregard for danger gave the men undoubted confidence in him, and the success of the attack was due a great deal to his leadership. He set a splendid example to everyone with whom he came in contact.'
