Military Medal 'In the attack on the Gravenstafel Ridge position on the 4th October, he took over charge of the office working at the 1st N.Z. Inf. Bde. forward station when his N.C.O. was killed, immediately after arrival at the position. He displayed great zeal and ability and disposed of all traffic without a hitch, under adverse conditions.'
