Military Medal 'For conspicuous bravery. During the attack of the New Zealand Division east of Ypres on October 4th 1917, Pte McCullagh as a Stretcher Bearer did valuable work. He worked within 200 yards of the enemy on exposed ground, and his cheerfulness and gallantry did much to keep up the moral of the men.'
