Military Medal 'Messines Offensive - 7th to 9th June 1917. This man single handed tackled 3 Germans who were bringing a Machine Gun out of a trench into action. He bayoneted the crew and captured the gun. Later he reorganised his section and did remarkably good work until severely wounded the next day.'
