'This N.C.O. went out in charge of a patrol on the nights of 13/14th, 14/15th, 15/16th June and brought back information in regard to going into "No Man's Land" over which a Raiding Party from the 2nd Bn, 3rd Rifle Brigade had to operate. His report on ground, enemy wire and listening post was exact and contributed largely to the success of the Raid. With a patrol on the 25/26th June one night of the raid he located an enemy party working on their wire. Again on the night of the 26/27th he went out to the enemy wire and reported that nothing had been done to repair the wire cut by two T.M. batteries.'
