Wounded in action, 30 September 1917 (shell wound, right forearm); admitted to No 2 Canadian Casualty Clearing Station, 1 October 1917; transferred to 18th General Hospital, Camiers, 2 October 1917; to No 6 Convalescent Depot, Etaples, 14 October 1917; to No 5 Convalescent Depot, Etaples, 15 October 1917; to Base Depot, Etaples, 30 November 1917; rejoined Bn, in the field, 19 December 1917.

On leave to United Kingdom, 11 February 1918; rejoined Bn from leave, 27 February 1918.

Admitted to Field Ambulance, 17 June 1918 (influenza), and transferred same day to 29th Casualty Clearing Station; to 74th General Hospital, Trouville, 26 June 1918; to No 4 Convalescent Depot, Havre, 10 July 1918; to Base Depot, Etaples, 30 August 1918; rejoined Bn, in the field, 27 September 1918.
