Military Cross 'For continuous good work and devotion to duty. During the advances made by this Battalion in September, October, and November, the work of delivering rations and supplies to the troops in the line, was very difficult. The roads and bridges were destroyed and any possible routes were subject to shelling by the enemy. Lieut
MacKenzie, who is Quartermaster to this Battalion, succeeded with unfailing regularity in delivering rations, always personally reporting to the Headquarters. When the Battalion came out for a rest he had everything possible done to make
the men comfortable the moment they arrived in billets. His organisation and the way he worked for the welfare of the unit merits the highest praise.'
