Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty near Puisiex au Mont on 21st August 1918. A strong machine gun post was holding up a portion of the advance
and Rifleman Lowe and Batty with a third companion noticing this at once dashed forward to rush the post. The third man was killed but Lowe and Batty bombed the post and rushing forward captured the machine guns and the Garrison of one Officer and 19 Other ranks. By his coolness and decision Rifleman Lowe saved many casualties and greatly assisted the advance.'
