Military Medal 'For continuous gallantry and devotion to duty in the field during operations extending from 17.7.18 to 14.9.18. This NCO is in charge of the Battalion Runners and has a record of valued and devoted service to his credit. Particularly during the
period above mentioned, when he successfully delivered, under heavy enemy fire on innumerable occasions, messages of special importance. His courage and willingness to undertake the carrying of messages of special importance during times involving great personal risk has always been noticeable and earned for him the admiration of all who have witnessed his work. For courage under enemy fire and a determination to accomplish his mission this NCO has few equals.'
