Military Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During the attack on the German positions in the Rossignol Wood Sector on the 24th July 1918, Private Law handledhis section with great skill and demonstrated the highest qualities of leadership, particularly during consolidation of the outpost line when subjected to heavy enemy shelling. Later in the operations he collected and organised a band of stretcher bearers, and worked through very heavy shell fire until all the wounded men had been evacuated. Although blown up by a shell during this work, and suffering considerably from shock, he carried on showing a splendid example of endurance and devotion to duty. By his courage and personal example he inspired all ranks.'
