During the above operations the Company to which Private Kelly belongs, attacked and was held up temporarily. Finding an enemy machine-gun, he took it forward to the flank and opened fire with so much success that he drove the enemy from the position and the attack progressed. His prompt action at a critical moment undoubtedly saved casualties and helped greatly in the success of the day.'
