Meritorious Service Medal 'For gallantry and devotion to duty. Sergeant Jones left New Zealand with the Main Body, and served in Gallipoli where he was three times wounded. Since October 1916, he has been in charge of the Brigades Workshop, and his work from then till the present time has been beyond all praise. However difficult the task given him, he has always carried it out cheerfully and well. His work has been of the greatest assistance to the whole Brigade, and though it was practically all done under shell fire, Sergeant Jones has always been more than equal to it. '
