Military Medal 'For conspicuous bravery and initiative. During the fighting near Gravenstafel on 4/5th October 1917, he repeatedly repaired broken telephone wires, under heavy shell fire, and was responsible for maintaining communication with front and rear formation, under most difficult and dangerous conditions.'
