Mention in Despatches

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During the operations in Messines Captain Jones led his Company with great gallantry through the village, capturing and consolidating his objective. He showed great coolness and a disregard of personal safety, walking about under heavy shell fire, directing and encouraging his men. Subsequently, in the operations of 13th and 14th June near Warenton, he again led his men with great gallantry, and after twice being driven back he captured and consolidated his position within 25 yards of the enemy.'
