Distinguished Conduct Medal (GAZA 19 April 1917) For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Although badly wounded in action, he refused to leave the field until he had given every possible assistance to his officer in getting his section together after it had suffered heavily from shell-fire. His pluck and devotion to duty deserve the highest praise.
