Military Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On the 29th September 1918, near La Vacquerie while acting as a Runner, Private Hudson displayed great gallantry and devotion to duty in carrying important messages at frequent intervals to the forward posts through intense enemy shell and machine-gun fire. On one occasion despite the fact that he was blown up by shell fire he succeeded in delivering his message. Later on the same day he was blown up, but stuck to his duty until his Company were relieved. He showed utter contempt of personal danger and an exceptional high standard of devotion to duty.'
