Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He has taken part in almost all the fighting during the offensive of 1918, and has done consistent good work. At Crevecoeur on 30th September and 1st and 2nd October he rendered very valuable service in laying and maintaining telephone-lines under particularly dangerous conditions until he finally was wounded.'
