Embarked Wellington, 10 October 1915; disembarked Egypt, 18 November 1915.

Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, France, 6 April 1916.

Found guilty, 15 May 1916, of (1) failing to attend parade of inlying picquet; (2) improperly dressed on inlying picquet: deprived of 3 days' pay.

Wounded in action, 9 July 1916 (gun shot wound, left heel), and admitted to No 1 NZ Field Ambulance; transferred to 30th General Hospital, 10 July 1916; to No 1 Convalescent Depot, 24 July 1916; rejoined unit, 9 August 1916, and posted to D Company.

Admitted to No 1 NZ Field Ambulance, 24 April 1917 (influenza); rejoined unit, 12 May 1917.

Detached to Divisional Reinforcement Camp, 30 May 1917; rejoined unit, 18 June 1917.

Detached to Rest Camp, 20 September 1917; rejoined unit, 8 October 1917.

Killed in action, 12 October 1917.
