Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During the operations on the Passchendaele Ridge on the 12th, 13th and 14th October 1917, this N.C.O. was in charge of Brigade Runners. His devotion to duty and personal example under shell and heavy machine gun fire was mainly responsible for communication being kept up with Battalions.'
