Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and dashing leadership during attack near Beaumont Hamel at 2 pm on 30th March 1918. This N.C.O. organised and led with superb dash three bombing attacks on a strongly established enemy strong point which was holding up our advance. The last party took the post and captured a machine gun and several prisoners. His determination and fearless leadership was responsible for the success of the attack by the left flank of his Company.'
