Military Medal 'This NCO showed great gallantry in constructing an infantry track whilst under heavy shell fire on the 4th October, 1917 near Gravenstafel, N.E. of Ypres and by his excellent example and devotion to duty greatly facilitated the completion of the tracks in such a short space of time.'
