Medals

Miltary Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. At Hebuterne on the 16th July 1918 the enemy counter attacked and gained a footing in the line in the front of that which Sergeant Green and his section held. He immediately organized his men and working from the left post personally led a bombing party working steadily down the trench and driving the enemy from the position re-establishing posts. To Sergeant Green's personal bravery is largely due the retaking of this portion of the line. He has at all times set an example to his men by his fearlessness and coolness in danger and they follow him with that confidence and boldness that ensures success.'
